Duty pistol or competition pistol, the Walther PDP 5” completion can pull both roles with ease. I think it fits a duty role even better than competition but this pistol has an everything the modern police officer could want.
From the dynamic performance trigger to the aggressive grip textures and slide serrations. They come with a deep optics cut with a plate system, Glock footprint iron sights, full pic rail and an enlarged Magwell. The three included 18 round magazines all have metal basepads and fit perfectly

For Da Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooyz!
I hade 2 malfunction recently
Whats the fix for the red dot mounting issue?
What do you do for a living bro?
A lot. Instead of standing by the status quo of working one job with 40 hours I prefer more than one and 60 hours. But previously I was a police officer, worked a lot there too.
Dammit. Now I want one…wifey is gonna kill me!
It will be worth it 😂
What holster are you using in this video with the Canik?
Blackhawk Omnivore
There is literally no difference 😂
Where’s Waldo?
*Excellent review, indeed. But, check the newly released Walther PDP Pro E (for enhanced). You will love it, guaranteed!*
I had the same problem with the hand guard and I found that the mag extension nut wasn’t properly tightened. Loosen the nut, seat the hand guard, retighten the nut properly. This solved my issue. Hope this helps.
Helpful to some but not to me. I tried fixing the popping handguard and regardless of assembly it didn’t help. I even found 4 other 940 pro tactical shotguns at stores which all did this. They come completely assembled from mossberg, so some would call that an issue.
Had a CR920 Elite and had not one but two slide release springs break for no reason and it also had bad muzzle flip. The customer support is excellent and they were quick to send me replacements but I will never own another one again.
Have you become a red.shirt yet??? We spoke at the Aero transition course couple.years back😅 disregard you resigned???? I had no idea
Yes indeed I did. I did resign to run a family business and pursue the RUclipss more!
@HuntFishShootChannel good for you! That's awesome... Simmons btw, just recently retired myself
@steelercurtain thats awesome brother! Enjoy a well deserved retirement!
You forgot to triple check the pistol was holstered properly hahaha
I've been thinking about getting a Walther nice vid
Highly recommend them!
I'll buy it from you
Do u like this better than the TTI Canik ?
Yes I do, personally
What plate did you use? For the stream light? The GL?
1913
@@HuntFishShootChannel for the TTI canik?
@twinturbo6779 that’s what I used in this video
@@HuntFishShootChannel thanks
I recently bought a PDP with a 5" slide but in the compact polymer frame. I really like this combination. I bought an OWB holster thinking this would be a range gun, but as I practice with it and build experience, I am thinking in the right clothes, the grip on the frame is actually short and small enough that it will conceal just fine. The PDP is much better than I thought it would be - it was a compromise buy when what I really wanted was a P320-DH3 as a range firearm. As a P365XL is already my go-to carry, its pretty much built for the purpose.
I had that issue on my 940. I actually had to loosen the mag extension slightly so it a smidge passed the end of the barrel it allowed me to tighten every thing down solid. Mine is rock solid now
HFS, Will you do an episode on holsters? Discussing the differences between the various levels of retention, the various heights/positions that holsters are attached to the leg and/or hip, and the different mounting systems (if that's what they're called) where the holster clips into another section of the holster that stays attached to the leg or hip. I see some holster systems are very close to the hip/leg while others have a bracket that allows for a few inches of clearance between hip/leg and the beginning of the holster. Thank you.
Good gun. Although my PDP had an issue this past week. While shooting the pin that holds the trigger shoe together along with the trigger shoe safety popped off... I couldnt pull the trigger anymore.
bought a pdp when they first came out. the plastic guide rod split-end cap broke after 5-600 rounds, and had to wait 3 months for the king at walther to finally send off my plate me the peasant....screw walther. either include the plates or dont bother marketing a pistol as optic "ready". pathetic. atleast ship with 2 plates for rmr & deltapoint at the very least
Agreed!
I am waiting for mine to come in, Sooooooo freakin excited. !!!!
Hell yeah!
The everyday gun enthusiast can afford you mean lol . doubt the average American can afford a $1k pistol under Bidon's economy lol
Sure
The LE version with Acro is a great deal too. Now they’re offering a PDP polymer trigger pro with 3 mags that’s supposed to be priced competitively. I’d like to see an LE faceoff between this, the Glock 45, and FN LE version
That is a fantastic deal!
I just see the Caniks
Great video. I'll have 4 in compact, and I'm considering the match because it comes ported.
I’m getting the Match poly for my son. The slide is ported but the barrel is not. I’m going to send the barrel to Floyd’s to get it ported and I’m hoping the poly with ports will shoot as flat as the steel Match
@Mr3dperformance good info. I thought that it had already come ported. I just looked it up, and it only comes with a 5-inch barrel. It's too big to EDC.
While I'm a fan of Walther I've come to accept the fact that new options are definitely worth considering such as Shadow as well as Canik , Glock is always in the option line up and won't be going anywhere soon . I believe it is safe to say Walther just isnt cheap and its time to rethink thier marketing options to better compete alongside lighter , reliable and cost effective models, they have everything they need to reengineering some new competitive ideas 💡
Shadow 2 OR, some Canik or Beretta. They are cheaper and as good or better.
More cost effective offerings are always welcome!
Yes as long as it meets professional standards.
You forgot to edit in the metal target sounds
Walther customer service sucks ass. Great guns tho
Heard that
HE DOESNT TELL YOU.. THE TTI COMBAT SHOOTS FASTER DUE TO TIGGER TIME 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
In your opinion why don’t more departments seek Walther as an issued firearm? Once you outfit a Glock or Sig with light and optic won’t the price be about the same?
Hopefully he will have a better answer than me, but from my experience in my LE career, it boils down to cost. Walther may not be able to come in as cheap per unit as Sig or Glock. I agree though, these should be issued for sure.
The original PDP had a flaw where if you took the gun slightly out of battery then let the slide forward again the trigger would remain dead. You’d have to rack the slide to reset the trigger. This disqualified the PDP from many departments. The issue has since been fixed I guess
This is true but also a fallacy because many striker fired guns do this. Issue is the PDP has a very long disconnector cut that made this issue more pronounced.@@Dillydilly956
The number one reason is cost, Sig, Smith and Wesson and Glock are able to offer a bulk purchase at a considerably lower price point. Second, most agency require levels of service and armorer training. Things are changing, Pennsylvania State Police are now issued the PDP and other larger agencies are testing them!
@@HuntFishShootChannel bingo - Walther's history in providing firearms to agencies doesn't have the same level of staffing and marketing development either. T&E investment to win over a single department can be a challenge. Walther's marketing and specialty operations just dont have the same scale to pursue departmental RFPs for bulk purchasing.
Great review and definitely making me reconsider an A300 over a 940. Not sure I agree you that you need more than a bead sight to shot slugs. 6:45 Numerous people take shotgun classes that involve hitting life sized targets with slugs and bead sights at 100 yards and the vast majority of students can do so by the end of the class. Now, for hunting deer, I would definitely not use a bead since accuracy for an ethical shot trumps speed.
Exactly there plate process is a disaster. I have had 4 pdp models and as you love them but there plate process is a disgrace in light of how amazing the guns are
Agreed! Very annoying!
How do you train for double feed / type 3 malfunctions with the magwell on the PDP? Do you lock the slide back first or just rip the mag out and skip locking the slide back? I've found with my PDP Pro it's very difficult to strip the mag first like is being taught now. It's hard to get a good grip on the mag baseplate unless I remove the magwell.
Grip and rip. Depress and hold magazine release button, rack slide until the mag and double feel clears. Or lock the slide to the rear and strip the magazine. Both can be done, the first one I mentioned is the fastest and most effective under stress
Looks like you got a lemon hoss, I grew up shooting almost exclusively berettas and except for doubles I’ve ditched them all for mossbergs at this point. My father still brings their new high end semis out for sporting clays and I’ll take my mossbergs every time.
For me, every mossberg I have ever touched has been lack luster, but I appreciate the insight!
@@HuntFishShootChannel for me the main difference has always been cleaning, if you dont keep mossbergs clean they will choke, but i clean every time i shoot so its not an issue a lot of guys dont want to clean regularly, okay in that case get a beretta
I love Mossberg but when you said that you can get the Beretta for the same money, I was sold on the Beretta. Thank you for the review and comparison between these two.
Thanks for watching!
Why didnt you include the Stealth Arms Platypus?
Couldn’t get one. Even called them to see if we could work something out.
Got a DR920 and trigger wouldn’t break unless i was putting pressure on the trigger rear ward and pulling to the side as well contact Shadow system and sent a whole new trigger group works flawless after that
Well I’ll sleep better knowing what your opinion is
staccato p is a great 2011 but i wouldn't say its overall the best. its best in something I'm sure but there's plenty of much flatter shooting 2011's. i think it just falls under best for the cost
It is good and you are right there are better guns
You would hate how much noise my 590 makes but hell that thing is bomb proof
That’s a pump gun tho, so way different
Sold my POF because of its 14.5 barrel with a pinned comp. It was impossible to shoot indoors because it sounded like a SBR .308 and the fire ball blast in the face was unbearable. I don’t know why they put comps on their rifles….there’s no recoil on a 5.56 AR. Only lost $50 on the sale and got a LWRC IC and this is my current home defense AR. God help anyone who uses the POF in their house for self-defense….you’ll go blind and deaf and I’m only exaggerating slightly.
Thanks! I needed a good laugh today 😅😂
Biased review. You weren’t holding and manipulating the shotguns the same way. You moved your fingers more to make the noise for the Mossberg. Mine doesn’t do that and no one else I know has ever done a review about that because it doesn’t happen. You clearly did something to it to cause that.
It’s a short and it’s not biased. My fingers moved way more because the forend actually moves on the mossberg vs the beretta which does not
The tactical douche
I have a pdp and an echelon and I love the way the echelon feels and shoots for me. But are solid options. But for me I tend to go toward the echelon
They are both great options for sure!
I have had mine for a while and never had a problem out of mine
That’s great!
😅😅😅

I love my rival, I'll buy the steel nickel one eventually
